ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:

KEN PENNELL – President of EMI Gospel
Ken Pennell founded the EMI Gospel label in 1998 under the guidance of EMI-CMG’s CEO, Bill Hearn. In a career that spans 40 years, he has worked on over 1,000 recording projects with artists including Smokie Norful, Heather Headley, VaShawn Mitchell, The Clark Sisters, Bishop T. D. Jakes, Commissioned, forever Jones, Myron Butler, Kierra Sheard, Donald Lawrence & Tri-City Singers, Aaron Neville, The Mighty Clouds Of Joy, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Hezekiah Walker, Thomas Whitfield, DeGarmo & Key and many more. In 2010, he won a Grammy Award as co-producer for, Oh Happy Day.


AMETRIA DOCK - Vocal Coach & Background Vocalist
Ametria is known as one of Gospel's first female artists to be signed to a mainstream label, Ametria kicked off her music career with MCA Records at the age of 18. In April 2000, she released her solo debut entitled, "It's Not About Me" featuring songwriters Mary J. Blige, Montel Jordan and KC. & Jojo. Her hit single titled, "Wait" was a duet with Boyz II Men's Wanya Morris. Ametria has since shared sound stages with artists like Mary Mary, Kim Burrell, The Clark Sisters, IMX, Avant and Kierra Sheard. She has also made a number of television show appearances including Oprah, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Regis and Kelly, The Monique Show, Good Morning America, and The Tyra Show.

In 2003, Ametria began singing with 3-time Grammy Award-winning India.Arie, traveling to venues all over the United States, Australia, Japan, London, Paris, Germany, Norway, Sweden Denmark and South Africa. In addition, she has shared venue spaces with icons like John Legend, Robin Thicke, Musiq Soulchild, Raheem Devaughn, Laura Isabor, Estelle, Wynonna Judd and most recently President Barack Obama. As a vocal coach, Ametria has been a musical consultant for clients like India.Arie, Janelle Monae, Reggae star Gramps Morgan of the group (Morgan Heritage) Jermaine Sellers and Danny Gokey of American Idol. Also a devoted mother and wife, Ametria is now working on her sophomore album release and continuing to tour with various artists as her schedule permits.  

 

BRANDON EGERTON - Music Career Consultant / Full Sail University Recording Arts Program Manager
Brandon Egerton has 13-plus years music industry experience. His career began with a ten-year stint at EMI Gospel Records — primarily as an A&R executive. While at EMI, Brandon was involved in the creation and promotion of more than 125 albums, including award winning artists: Kierra Sheard, Smokie Norful, Bishop TD Jakes, Aaron Neville, CeCe Winans, and Donald Lawrence. In 2008, he launched Sideman Music Consulting and Beyond Potential University, two career development resources for indie musicians. Additionally, he currently oversees the Recording Arts degree program at Full Sail University. Brandon’s professional recognition includes: three Grammy® Award nominations as Executive Producer/A&R, six Dove Awards, thirteen Stellar Awards and nine certified Gold-plus selling albums to his credit. In 2006, Brandon was a guest panelist for the GRAMMY® In The Streets Urban Music Series in San Francisco and a guest panelist for Full Sail University’s Hall of Fame week in 2011. 


ANTONIO NEAL – Grammy/Dove award Winning Singer/Songwriter/Producer
Antonio Neal is a Grammy and Dove award-winning Songwriter/Producer with more than 13 years experience in the music business. During his career, Antonio has contributed to various artists careers including: The Katinas, Stacie Orrico, Kierra Sheard, Canton Jones, Point of Grace and Darlene McCoy, as well as the motion picture soundtrack for Tyler Perry’s Diary Of A Mad Black Woman. Additionally, he is the co-founder of Beyond Potential University.


CANDY WEST – Artist/Writer/Background Vocalist

Candy has written/arranged for and done background/lead vocal work for: Kirk Franklin, Myron Butler & Levi, God’s Property, 1NC, Fred Hammond, Mary Mary, Yolanda Adams, Patti LaBelle, Marvin Sapp, Donald Lawrence, Bishop TD Jakes, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Dewayne Woods, Deborah Cox and Brandy.
